‘Indoor Hurling & Camogie’ Heat 4: Omagh

Attention turned once again to Omagh’s superb Station Centre for Heat 4 and the final instalment of our thrilling 2019 ‘Indoor Hurling & Camogie’ competition. Four school teams competed in the Hurling section whilst two teams took part in the Camogie.

Apologies were received from a number of schools – hence the reduced numbers. However, this didn’t detract from the quality on show.

The 2 camogie entrants, St. Patrick’s P.S. Castlederg and St. Colmcille’s P.S. Carrickmore (2018 Champions), played each other in an extended match, and both duly qualified for the Tyrone Indoor Camogie County Final 2019.

The Hurling competition was run-off on a round-robin basis with the teams from Gaelscoil Uí Dhochartaigh, Strabane; St. Patrick’s P.S. Castlederg; St. Mary’s P.S. Killyclogher and St. Colmcille’s P.S. Carrickmore all playing each other – giving them three games apiece. The standard of play, just like the camogie, was superb. After tallying-up the points we had our finalists. Great credit to Killyclogher and Castlederg for battling so heroically but, on this occasion, it was the lads from Carrickmore and Gaelscoil Uí Dhochartaigh who progress to the Tyrone Indoor Hurling County Final 2019.

A huge word of thanks to Jerome who had everything prepared for us as usual. Thanks, also, to Tyrone Hurling & Camogie Officer Ryan Keenan – ably assisted by Anne Daly (GDA) for officiating so efficiently.

We wish all 8 finalists in both codes all the very best of luck for the finals.

Ádh mór oraibh!
