Fr Connolly Park in Eglish was the venue for today's Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Section 'O' finals day qualifier. Roan St Patrick's Eglish, St Joseph's Galbally, St Mary's Cabragh, St Mary's Pomeroy, St Patrick's Donaghmore and Gaelscoil Aodha Rua all fielded teams in both the boys' and girls' sections of this 9-a-side football competition.
The standard on the day was extremely high with all games keenly contested. After the round-robin stage, St Joseph's Galbally and St Patrick's Donaghmore qualified for the final with the Galbally lads pulling away in the second half to win and qualify for the finals.
In the girls' section, Roan St Patrick's Eglish and St Mary's Cabragh topped the group and played an excellent final. The Eglish girls edged this game and will now join Galbally boys at the finals day in Garvaghey on June 6th. We wish both teams the best of luck in the finals!
A big thank you to the young whistlers from St Patrick's College Armagh and to all staff for helping out on the day.
