Eglish was the venue for today's Allianz Cumann na mBunscol finals day qualifier. Roan St Patrick's Eglish, St Joseph's Galbally, St Mary's Cabragh, St Mary's Pomeroy, St Patrick's Donaghmore and Gaelscoil Aodha Rua all fielded teams in both the boys' and girls' sections of this 9-a-side football competition.
The standard on the day was extremely high with all games keenly contested. After the round-robin stage, St Mary's Cabragh and St Joseph's Galbally qualified for the boys' final with the Cabragh lads pulling away in the second half to win and qualify for the finals.
In the girls' section, St Mary's Pomeroy and St Joseph's Galbally topped the group and played an excellent final. The Galbally girls edged the game and will now join the Cabragh boys at the finals day in Garvaghey on June 3rd. We wish both teams the best of luck in the finals!
